Less Is More With Bare Escentuals *Giveaway* Published on Friday, February 5, 2010 by

This giveaway is now closed.  Thanks for stopping by.  The winner is Ashley.  Congrats!

A couple of weeks ago, I told you about Bare Escentuals‘ new campaign, Rethink What Matters. Every week, Bare Escentuals, invites you to be a part of the conversation.  They want to hear what you think about a variety of topics by answering 5 short questions.  This week’s topic is “Rethink the Need to Find Yourself.”

I’m 32 years old and am very content with where I’m at.  I have more education than I could have ever imagined, two incredible children, am married to the man of my dreams, have traveled the world, and bought a house by the age of 30.  As a child, the only thing I really remember dreaming about was becoming a mom.  I’ve not done anything else in my life that compares to motherhood.

Have you found your true passion? Are you what you wanted to be when you grew up?  These are just two f the queBare Escentuals is asking women across the country.  So head on over…join the conversation…and enter to win something fun from Bare Escentuals.  Each week they’ll be 500 winners.  And this week’s giveaway is bareMinerals SPF15 Foundation. Here is a bit more info from the site:

Our Original SPF 15 Foundation gives you an incredibly flawless, even application and picture-perfect skin. Its silky, soft texture looks like a powder, but it feels like a cream and buffs on beautifully without settling into fine lines or drying out the skin. Made with only the purest, highest quality ingredients — and none of the chemicals and preservatives that can irritate skin.

Win It! One of you will win a SPF15 Foundation in the color/shade of your choice.  Simply visit the site.  Then leave me a comment related to this week’s topic.  Comments will close on February 25, 2010 at 11:59 PM PST.  One comment per person, please (unless you do the extra credit). US residents only. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. If you don’t want to leave your email address, please be sure to check back for my announcement on the winner. Please note that winners must respond within 48 hours of being announced/contacted or another winner will be drawn.

Want an extra entry? Do any or all of the following and receive an extra entry for each one.

They have a spot on the website that helps you find your correct foundation color by looking at models on the site that represent each tone. Helpful!

I liked that they were asking the true to heart questions. Too often it is about the physical appearances. Don’t get me wrong. I love doing the things that make me feel beautiful on the outside as well, but nothing makes me happier than doing what I love to do.. writing. Writing is my passion and I indulge most days by sitting down and writing an hour or so as often as I can. I haven’t always pursued my passion as an occupation but I am trying to rectify that now to make writing my life’s work. You are never too old or too busy to pursue your dreams.

I think we find ourselves when we lose ourselves – lose ourselves in nature, lose ourselves in service to others, lose ourselves in worship to God. Then we find ourSelves.

The questions were interesting. I’m not sure if I am what I wanted to be when I was a child, but I’m doing what I want to be doing now. I still have bigger ambitions but I think everyone does. When stop being ambitious I think you start to stand still.

I took today’s quiz at Bare Escentuals–Rethink What Matters. It was interesting to me that 71% of women agree with me–that peace and quiet is what centers us. I spent too many years being too busy; now I realize the importance of “down time” for my sanity!

I pursued my dream about being a poet and an artist until illness and death came to my family and then I myself became seriously ill. Years went by, I did a television program on the arts locally (little pay, very taxing and stressful but it did help the artists themselves) and now this site has me re-thinking my priorities: besides showing collages professionally and doing music and movie reviews I may go back to the poetry/writing world and try to write a novel, and even though I did well in writing intially (winning many awards) this scares me!

When I was younger I wasn’t sure about what I wanted to do. Career wise there were a lot of dead ends. I’m happy where I am now even though it might not have been what I imagined. I always wanted a husband, a family and my own house. I have that and a job I really love. My passion is my family.

  • by Kittenish February 20, 2010 at 12:30 am

I remember what I wanted to be as a little kid. It’s changed as I’ve grown up, though it’s stayed in the same general area with the same basic idea. I have trouble with motivation, so I haven’t achieved as much as I thought I would have by now. I need to learn to focus. Anyway, Bare Escentuals asks a lot of questions with no easy or short answers. Essay questions need more than a small text box for input. =/
