Snuggle Up With St. Eve Kids *Giveaway* Published on Monday, January 4, 2010 by

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by.  The winner is Amy P. Congrats!

It’s winter and it’s COLD (at least for Southern California it is!)…especially at night (in the 40′s!).  We live in a two-story house and because heat rises, we often find that turning the heater on warms the upstairs but leaves us freezing downstairs.  Since our living room is downstairs, that is where we curl up on the couch for movies, books, and family time.  I love snuggling up with a warm blanket during the winter.  And now your kids will too with the St. Eve Kids’ Cozy.

Have you ever seen a wearable blanket with sleeves?  Apparently they’re very popular for adults (i.e. Slanket).  Now your kids can wear their very own super soft blanket!  The Cozy is made from 100% polyester which means it will keep your kids warm.  For a kid’s blanket, it’s a lot bigger than I expected.  I put it on and it fit me (and I’m still holding onto some major baby weight).  I don’t think that this is necessarily a bad thing, just something to consider.

According to the site, you can purchase items from St. Eve Kids at major department stores including Bloomingdales, Macy’s, Bon-Ton, and Nordstrom.  Unfortunately, I had a difficult time finding anything on those sites, which means you’ll have to go into the store.

The Cozy retails for $20.  Be sure to check out Drama U where you can enter to win a one-year supply of pajamas for your kids!

Win It! I have a Bright Pink Cozy to give away to one reader.  Simply leave me a comment with how you get your children to go to sleep.  Comments will close on January 19, 2009 at 10 PM PST.  One comment per person, please (unless you do the extra credit). US residents only. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. If you don’t want to leave your email address, please be sure to check back for my announcement on the winner. Please note that winners must respond within 48 hours of being announced/contacted or another winner will be drawn.

Want an extra entry? Do any or all of the following and receive an extra entry for each one.

Be sure to leave me a separate comment for each additional entry.

I read a Curious George book to my son before bed. It seems to calm him down, and the ritual is what he expects before he has to go to sleep.

routine is very important! Failing that, just make it a sort-of game to lie still with their eyes closed… you will almost always catch them peeking… nicely point out no peeking!

Same routine with Daddy every night. It makes a big difference when I do it. Having that special time with Daddy is very important to them.

    How warm!!!!

I have to laugh about the first requirement because what we tried with our first and how we do things now are SOOOOO different! We tried, a dark room with a soft table lamp, calming music in the background, cool room (because apparently it helps you sleep better), the whole nine yards.

Now, we say our bed time prayers in the living room. Because one simply can not go to bed unless they have heard all of their sisters say their night time prayers, directly after we say our family prayer! That is followed by night doses of medicine and vitamins, a glass of water and bed time hugs and kisses.

Hubby and I can’t go upstairs, because apparently (even the 3 year old says so), they are “big girls” and “can do it themselves”! Typically between bed and prayers is bath time. When they get all done and jammied, we snuggle on the couch and watch an episode of iCarly or some other 30 minute show.

  • by beth shepherd January 5, 2010 at 6:57 am

We have had a routine ever since they were babies. They all go to bed at 8pm no matter if they have school or not the next day. They brush their teeth and off to bed they go. I have never had issues as it has always been this way.

Anna (who’s 3) takes a warm bath, we read a story, say our prayers, and then sugar & countdown for lights out. Dylan (who’s 1) needs a warm bath, a cup of milk, (prayers during milk) and at least 1 of 3 of his favorite stuffed animals. So far so good, everyone goes to bed pretty smoothly.

My son is grown now but when he was little our routine was drinks, stories, hugs and kisses then get the blankets just right (he has OCD). fter that it was adult time and he didn’t have to sleep, just no talking, playing or getting up so he would fall asleep out of boredom.

My girls have been begging for these! Thank you for the giveaway.

I get my girls to go to sleep by sticking to a routine. Every night we read a story and then I tuck them in and go to bed. I keep a consistent bed time so they know what to expect. Also, I count down to their bedtime. For example, I will give them a warning an hour before bed, then a half hour, than fifteen minutes. That way they know what to expect.

But this doesn’t work all the time. Tonight was a struggle but I attribute that to letting them stay up an hour past their bedtime and baking chocolate chip cookies with them. Who do you know can go to sleep full of sugar? Not me! lol I should have known better!

we will usually read a story book and then the boys want ”their story!’”
since they were old enough to listen i start a story of something and weave them into it.Sometimes they are the theme, sometimes super heroes, motorcycle driver, power ranger..all kinds of things and they love it..usually by the time we are thru, they are ready for sleep,or another story..lol

My daughter used to have night terrors and to alleviate the fear she felt when waking in the quiet darkness, I took to playing classical music for her at night. Stuff that was light and cheery. After she outgrew the night terrors, she continued with the classical music because she said it helped her fall asleep. Now she has a large collection of classical music disks to choose from each night, and we hope to continue the tradition with her own children one day in the distant future.

My niece will only go to sleep when she is tired, so I have no tricks. Very frustrating :(

I know that this is horrible but I usually put a movie in for her. It’s the only way to get her to go to sleep.

I rub lavender scented lotion on my daughter to help her sleep better.

A set routine and a bedtime story is what helps us most.

My oldest goes to sleep on her own. I have to snuggle with my youngest. She’s 5 and we still co-sleep. I’m in no hurry to get her out of our bed. She uses my arm as her pillow for most of the night. She’s my cuddle bug. lol thank you!

My daughter is a teenager now so she has lots going on during the day. To help her relax and fall aslteep we have a cup of tea in the evening and chat about her day.

I feel lucky that the boys go right to sleep when I tell them it is bed time. They do think that the dog needs to come in there to help them fall asleep. He stays about 10 minutes and then comes back to the living room. Thank you

My kids are older so I tell them to turn the lights out and talk to them awhile about their day before they go to sleep.

I have a little ritual from my childhood. We start at the toes, with stretch your toes, relax your toes…on through to the top! Then a bedtime story.

Hae their routine always, read to them, and then they’re out.

We read quite a bit. She sometimes requires some melatonin, but always requires sleepy, new age music.
