Choo Choo…Chuggington Is Making It’s Way to the US! Published on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 by

The last few weeks have been a blur.  Having a new baby can really throw a mama off schedule.  And I have to admit that my son has been watching a bit more television than normal as we adjust to our new normal.  Playhouse Disney is his favorite channel and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Little Einsteins are regulars around here.  So I was a bit surprised when my son started asking about Chuggington.  As the stay-at-home mom around here, I pride myself on staying up on the latest preschool releases.  Apparently I’ve been failing the last few weeks.

We were sent a DVD sampler with a few episodes from the British series.  My son is a huge fan of trains…a certain train in particular…a certain train I find rather boring (shhh). On the contrary, Chuggington is animated, fun, and funny.  The series “follows the adventures of three young “trainees” as they learn to explore, work and play in a safe and exciting world.”  Some of the themes covered include friendship, believing in yourself and telling the truth.  My son was running around the house a few days ago yelling Choo Choo and singing the song (that’s stuck in my head…ack!).  He just adored the show and I had to bribe him to get him to turn it off so that we could do other things.

Chuggington premieres on Playhouse Disney on Monday January 18th.  If you’re available on Friday night, Amy from Resourceful Mommy is hosting a Twitter Party at 9 pm EST.  Just follow the hashtag #Chuggington to learn more about the series and have a chance at winning some fantastic prizes.

I did not receive compensation for this post.  I did receive a DVD sampler, courtesy of the company, in order to facilitate my review.
