Holiday Gift Guide 2009: Handy Manny Fix-It Motorcycle *Giveaway* Published on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 by

This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to Whitney!

It’s funny to watch my son go through character phases.  There was a time when he just adored Sesame Street…then it was Thomas and The Wonder Pets.  Earlier this year I purchased annual Disneyland passes and took my son almost weekly until I couldn’t do it any longer.  He has grown rather fond of many of the Playhouse Disney characters including Mickey Mouse, Little Einsteins, and Handy Manny.

Handy MannyMy son’s favorite toys are those that include characters he is familiar with.  I like toys that engage my son and stimulate his imagination.  My son has been doing a lot of imaginative, pretend play lately.  We recently had an opportunity to review the Handy Manny Fix-It Motorcycle, courtesy of Disney Consumer Products.  My son is fascinated with it.  He even took the tools that come with it to nap time with him the other day.

The toy actually keeps my son entertained for long periods of time.  He’s fascinated with “fixing the engine” or the tailpipe.  He also likes having me help him turn it into a chopper.  If you’ve ever watched the show, then you can see the correlation.  There are 15 fix-it jobs with the parts necessary to customize the bike.  The bike comes with a blueprint to show you and your child how to fix the bike.  I only wish the bike had a way to stand up on it’s own without attaching the side car.

Since Manny is bilingual on the show, it makes sense that he also speaks phrases in both languages (another added benefit of this toy).  He tells you what parts of the bike need fixing when you press the button (my son likes repeating the phrases).

Overall, Handy Manny’s Fix-It Motorcycle is fun, engaging, and educational.  It’s available for purchase at The Disney Store and retailers nationwide.

disneystorelogoWin It!
