Holiday Gift Guide 2009: Snapfish *Giveaway*
November 25, 2009 by Caryn
This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to Lentil!
If you were to walk into our house, you’d notice a persistent theme…We are a family whose story is told in photographs. Our walls are lined with pictures of our little boy, our travels, our life… You’ll find photo books and digital picture frames and canvases… When I think about what my parents or in-laws would like for Christmas, one thing comes to mind…pictures of our little boy.
There are a ton of websites dedicated to the art of photo gifts. One of my favorites is Snapfish (and one I’ve talked about and reviewed several times). The emergence of the digital camera revolutionized photography. But it also made it less likely that people would actually do anything with their pictures. How many of you have a thumb drive or hard drive filled with pictures that have never been printed? I know I do. Because I have a digital camera where I can shoot hundreds of pictures, I end up doing nothing more than that. Photo gifts are a great way to display those photos on your desktop or camera (I have pictures on my camera from July!).

Snapfish offers a variety of gifts including photo books, ornaments, and calendars. The company recently introduced desktop calendars which allow you to display photographic memories while keeping track of important dates and events. You can choose from 12 or 18 month calendars and select the month you want to begin from. The calendars are available on the site for $14.99.

One of the things I’ve been wanting to do for a long time is create a photo blanket. I’m waiting until our baby girl is here to incorporate pictures of all 4 of us into one blanket. Photo blankets are perfect for showcasing multiple pictures and start at $49.99.

A photo book is a classic gift that’s perfect for anyone. I particularly enjoy giving them as gifts to the grandparents. Today through December 2, Snapfish is offering 50% off of a customizable photo book using the promo code RRBOOK. One dollar from the purchase will go towards local food banks nationwide. This is in part due to a partnership between Snapfish and Food Network star Rachael Ray. If you check out the micro-site, you’ll find photos of the book Rachael Ray created while working on a food bank in Ohio today. She helped make dinner for 2,500 people (impressive that so many people were able to obtain a meal).
Rachael Ray spent her time in Wilmington, Ohio working to remodel and replenish the Sugartree Ministry’s food bank, as well as making dinner for 2,500 townspeople. Along the way, Rachael documented her experience with photos and then created this beautiful, poignant photo book. The photo books were featured on her Thanksgiving On Main Street show as a unique gift idea for the holidays.

Lastly, if you still haven’t ordered your Christmas cards (like us), check out Snapfish’s premium holiday photo cards. We only give out photo cards because we like to give our friends and family something personal. Check them out…they start at $0.29 per card.
Win It! One of you will win a customizable photo book (RV $35). Simply head on over to the site and take a look around. Come back here and leave me a comment with something you’d like from the site. Comments will close on December 10, 2009 at 10 PM PST. One comment per person, please (unless you do the extra credit). US residents only. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email.
