In 1984 at age 5, my daughter was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, a non-curable neuromuscular disease. She was hospitalized in San Diego Children's Hospital during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. It was during those very long 5 weeks that our family lived across the street from the hospital at the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House has always been very dear to my heart.
