Back to School…What’s On Their Feet? (Part 3) – Umi Shoes! Published on Saturday, September 5, 2009 by

I think I’ve saved the best for last!  All of the shoes in our back to school series have their own unique attributes and I could see myself purchasing any of the ones I’ve recommended so far.  But just like anything you’re in the market for, there is the “creme de la creme,” the top-of-the line brands that do an outstanding job of bringing you a high-quality designer product.  My last in my mini shoe series is a company called Umi Shoes. Here is a little more information from the site:

umi_logoUmi shoes are designed with children’s feet in mind. We craft our shoes from the highest quality nappa and nubuck leather, with carefully constructed lasts. Our manufacturing process includes more than twenty quality control checks to ensure that every pair of shoes meets our standards. The result: Umi shoes are flexible, supportive, built to fit, and go the distance.

tanza_780242_chocsandWe received a pair of leather Tanza shoes in chocolate-sand to review.  When I opened the box, I was highly impressed with both the look and the quality of the shoe.  The boys’ line this fall is described as “fresh, fun and stylish” and I couldn’t agree more.  They have a European look to them and I really like the intermixing of colors on the shoes.  They’re soft…softer than they look and flexible.  The sole is actually thicker than most shoes and highly supportive…perfect for my little explorer.  The shoes are a little on the pricey side, considering how quickly a children’s feet grow.  However, I’ve noticed that my son is able to wear shoes  a lot longer than he used to and he’s been getting a lot of use out of the ones he wears.

Umi Shoes has a line of shoes, specifically designed for babies called UmiPrimero.  They’re perfect for babes who are taking their very first steps!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my little series on shoes for school!
