I’m Gonna Wash Those Stains Right Out of My Clothes… Published on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 by

This giveaway is now closed.  Thanks for stopping by.  The winners are: Angela J, Denyse, Rosey, Pat, McClure Family Space, Densie B, Kristie, Pegil, Lily K, Jackie, Janna J, Mary M, Lori B, Naddez, CMC, Charity S, Wendi S.  Congrats!

I don’t like complaining…but it seems like I’m CONSTANTLY doing laundry!  It’s not uncommon for me to have to change my son’s clothes at least twice in a day, and I’m lucky if I don’t have to change MY clothes once day because of something he’s spilled, slobbered, colored, or wiped on me.  Between our laundry, and my husband’s accumulation of dirty work clothes, I do a LOT of laundry!  Because this is a frequent chore around the house (at least 3 times or more a week), I like products that make it quick and effortless.  Let’s take stains…I don’t have time to scrub or soak clothes with stains (and with two males in the house, stains are inevitable). And I’d like to be able to wear all of our clothes as long as possible, considering how expensive they are.  I’d also like to be able to use my son’s wardrobe for another child, should it be a boy.

img1Awhile back I told you about my involvement with Spray N Wash as a member of their exclusive Mom’s Panel.  Well, I’ve been using the new Spray ‘n Wash Bright & White for a few weeks now and wanted to share with you how it’s been working out.  I am not a fan of bleach for clothing, partly because I have sensitive skin and mostly because the clothes will be in contact with my son’s sensitive skin. I’ve used bleach in the laundry before and it makes me nervous (more the smell and inhalation as opposed to ruining my clothes).  I also don’t really know the first thing about bleaching clothing and I’m certain I’d ruin something.  Did you know that 97% of today’s clothing labels warn against using Chlorine Bleach (Based on National Consumer Survey conducted by Millward Brown on behalf of Reckitt Benckiser)? Spray ‘n Wash Bright & White is a safe, bleach alternative to removing stains and helping your clothes look brighter and whiter.

spraynwashSpray 'n Wash

One of the things I like about the product (besides the fact that it won’t hurt me or my clothes) is that it’s easy to use.  Simplicity is crucial at this stage in my life.  I simply add it to the wash with the detergent.  Now, I could pre-wash spot or soak my son’s clothes with stains…but I haven’t and probably won’t.  Not to say that it wouldn’t work…just that I don’t have time for it.  Some of my son’s clothes have been stained for weeks prior to using Spray ‘n Wash Bright & White.  After using it a few times, the stains are not as noticeable (of course if I had not waited to try to remove them, weeks after the occurrence, it might be that the stains would be invisible at this point).  I’ve learned my lesson…wash cloths with stains immediately!  For a stain remover, the product is pretty gentle.  My son has very sensitive skin and usually gets a rash from new products used on his clothes, but that has not happened while using this (and we’ve been using it for several weeks now). The product has a mild smell, in case you’re sensitive to that.  It doesn’t bother me but it’s important to know before purchasing.  Also, I highly recommend doing a spot test on clothing, particularly if it’s something you cherish.   I have not experienced any problems with damage to clothing, but it’s a wise suggestion and one I obtained directly from the site.  A 44 ounce bottle retails for $4.99 and can be purchased at retailers nationwide.

Win It! Two of you will win a mini-washing machine (it’s cardboard, FYI, but oh so cute!) with a 44 ounce bottle of Spray ‘n Wash Bright & White and 15 of you will receive a coupon to try the product out for free (wow!).  Simply head on over to the site and take a look around.  Come back here and leave me a comment with something you learned on their facts page.  Comments will close on May 15, 2009 at 10 PM PST (please note you’ll have approximately 2 weeks to use the coupons which I think will give you more than enough time).  One comment per person, please (unless you do the extra credit). US residents only. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. If you don’t want to leave your email address, please be sure to check back for my announcement on the winner. Please note that winners must respond within 48 hours of being announced/contacted or another winner will be drawn.

Wow, you know I didn’t know how high the percantage of clothes, white clothes even, that say do not use bleach. I love to bleach my whites, maybe that’s why they don’t last. :/

Thank you so much for the chance to win!
