I Can See Clearly Now… (A Windex Giveaway) Published on Sunday, March 15, 2009 by

This giveaway is now closed.  Thanks for stopping by.  The winner is Vivian Chiang.  Congratulations!

log_small_windex

Many of you know that my husband and I purchased our first home last October.  It’s bigger than any house I’ve ever lived in but I’m having a teensy little problem…I can’t keep it clean!  I am a full-time mom (meaning I don’t have anyone outside of the home to help me with my son and he’s not in daycare) and work part-time as a nurse, so my time is limited and extremely precious.  I don’t want to waste time doing things like cleaning when I could be enjoying life with my family and friends.  But cleaning is a necessity, so I am always looking for quick and easy solutions that will cut down on the amount of time I spend cleaning the house.

img_allinoneWe live in a two-story house with large windows.  I’ll let you in on a little secret….apart from the “cleaning” they received when it rained a few weeks ago, the windows haven’t officially been cleaned.  Yikes!  I just couldn’t imagine taking a bottle of window cleaner and a cloth and going outside for an hour or more to clean windows.  I recently tried Windex’s Outdoor All-In-One window cleaner.  To say I was impressed is an understatement.  I have never actually cleaned windows from the outside but this product is amazing.  All you need is the product and a hose.  Take a look at the little video I put together:

It literally took minutes to clean my outside windows at the back of the house.  I loved that I didn’t actually have to do any heavy-duty scrubbing or drying for that matter.  What’s great about the product is that you can clean up to 20 windows with one pad and it reaches up to 11 feet.  I’m short so there is now way I would ever be able to reach even half-way up our windows to clean them without a ladder that I’d surely fall off of.  My windows were so clean after using the product and I didn’t see any streaks or spots.I wanted to use it indoors but hubby thought that was a really bad idea so it looks like I have to clean my inside windows the old fashioned way.  Now, if I could just try Windex’s Outdoor Window & Surface Cleaner perhaps I’d be able to get those second story windows clean…

Here is a little more information about Windex Outdoor All-In-One from the site:

Windex Outdoor All-In-One glass cleaning tool provides a faster, easier way to clean outdoor windows.  Say goodbye to hand-drying with Windex’s Special Sheeting Action Formula that prevents streaks and spotting.

Windex Outdoor All-In-One retails for approximately $17 and is available at retailers nationwide.

Win It! One of you will win a Windex Outdoor All-In-One Glass Cleaning Tool.  Simply head on over to the site and take a look at the products Windex has to offer.  Then come back and leave me a comment with another product you must have to help you with your spring cleaning.  Comments will close on March 29, 2009 at 10 PM PST.  One comment per person, please. US residents only. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. If you don’t want to leave your email address, please be sure to check back for my announcement on the winner. Please note that winners must respond within 48 hours of being announced/contacted or another winner will be drawn.

I hate windows so much that I left them for years. Finally when we moved, my MIL had to come and do them for me. They looked so good I realize I can’t do that anymore. This product looks great!!

Dry microfiber cloths would be great and I love that they are reusable

  • by Sylvie W. March 28, 2009 at 8:08 pm

Boy do I need this. When the sun shines through my windows I can see a whitish grime. Windex would knock that out.

As for Windex products, I really like the Multi-Surface Wipes. I purchsed my first container two weeks ago and they really make it easy to spot clean. Just whip a wipe out of the container and have at it. Clean TV screen, clean bathroom mirror, clean everything.
