Earlier this year, I put my son in preschool. He absolutely loved it. And then flu season came around and I pulled him out. Now that we have a newborn in the house, I'm weighing whether or not to put him back in preschool. I've never even considered the option of homeschooling, but I know that I'm fully capable of educating my children at home. Preschool, in... Read More »

I like to think I'm fairly conscious of my impact on the environment. Over 90% of the products we use in our home are "green," and we do our part to reduce, reuse, and recycle. One of the most challenging aspects for me was giving up my bottled water. I *know* it's not any b... Read More »

I recently told you about Playskool's More Than Play Campaign, “an educational initiative designed to show parents how play lays down important foundational skills needed for advanced learning like reading, writing, mathematics, critical problem solving, and conceptual thinking.” Choosing a toy should be a well thought out, researched endeavor. Since play is c... Read More »

Pizza is one of my favorite foods. And while I have my local favorites, I'm not entirely picky when it comes to pizza because I don't envision how it would be possible to make a "bad" pizza. Speaking of pizza, we've been eating a lot of it because it's so convenient to have ... Read More »

I have to admit that I'm really enjoying shopping for our baby girl. It's just so much easier to find cute, girly clothing for her. There is no shortage of options like there is for little boys. Shopping for my son, as much as I enjoy it, has always been a challenge. The clothes I want for him are either difficult to find or very expensive.

It's hard to believe that one week ago, I was pregnant and now I'm not. I'm not complaining...at all. It's just the strangest feeling to be pregnant for almost an entire year and then one day you're just not. I am overjoyed at having our baby girl with us. I'm not one who does pregnancy well. I don't glow and generally just feel awkward. Because I think th... Read More »

It's not too often that I get a box I'm not expecting. You may remember I reviewed the Restore Clean Water System, courtesy of HoMedics as part of my holiday gift guide. The company was kind enough to send me a gift every mother needs...a Therapist Select Shiatsu Massage Pillow. I've always wanted something that could give me a massage whenever I wanted one.

I feel very fortunate because my son just loves brushing his teeth. I believe it's because we brushed his teeth with him when his first tooth erupted. We've always been really positive about the experience. In fact, HE wants to do it all by himself and doesn't like when mommy or daddy try to "help" him. The slight problem is that he hasn't quite mastered th... Read More »

I am one of the first to admit that I just adore shopping for my kids. I don't even bother shopping for myself anymore because it's so much more fun to pick out smart threads for my 2 year old or pretty dresses for my newborn. For the most part, I purchase eco-friendly, ... Read More »

In the last 2 weeks I've chosen a ton of winners, but I've only heard back from maybe half of you. I usually give you 48 hours to respond, however, the combination of having a baby and the holidays have given you at least a week to respond. I really don't like choosing another winner but today I'm going to be going through and re-selecting winners for giveaways I ... Read More »

When I was pregnant with my son, 2 of my very best friends threw me an incredible baby shower. It was a tea-themed shower and each of the tables were adorned with diaper cakes the girls had made themselves by hand. The girls spent a LOT of time, money, and effort making those cakes. Along with the basics they needed for the cakes (diapers, etc.), they also had to ... Read More »

I know absolutely nothing about my car, other than how to drive it! When I lived with my parents, my father always took care of my car and he knew just the places to go when something needed to be fixed or replaced. Then hubby and I moved to Orange County and it felt like starting over. Our usual repair shops were gone and with an SUV pushing 210,000 miles, we needed ... Read More »

We told him much sooner than I had anticipated. Mums the word until week 12, right? But I was sick...very, very sick. And he needed to know why mommy was lying on the couch all day...or stuck in the bathroom for too long. In a small way, I felt like he understood (as much as a toddler can) that mommy wasn't herself.
Thankfully, week 12 came and things we... Read More »

It's the rare occasion when one gets to lay around all day in her pajamas. Having a baby (and major surgery) gives me a great excuse to do just that. And I have just the perfect pajamas to do such important things in (recovery is hard work!).
I was first introduced to KN Karen Neuburger through it's association with First Book, an organization that provides new... Read More »
