Green Me: A Shout Out to Paper Shouts (Plus a Giveaway!) Published on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 by

*Update*

This giveaway is now closed.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  The winner is Casey H.  Congratulations!

Nothing replaces the timeless tradition of a handwritten note on elegant stationery.  One of my hobbies BC (before children) was collecting beautifully designed stationery from all over the world.  While content is important, design is an expression of style and personality.  Paper Shouts is a chic stationery company with a flair for the unique.  From vintage to modern and everything in between, Paper Shouts offers fabulous invitations and announcements for any occasion.

The company is committed to protecting the environment and prints all of their stationery on 100% recycled, high-quality uncoated paper (although you’d never know it!).  They are also donating a percentage of  their proceeds from holiday cards to Our City Forest (OFC), an organization created to cultivate a greener, healthier urban environment and a renewed sense of community through planting and care of the urban forest.

Many of the designs allow you to personalize the invite or announcement with a photo.  Take a look at some of favorite designs:

Special Offer!  Save 10% on all holiday orders now through December 1, 2008 with the code “rockin”

Win It! One lucky reader will receive a $50 gift certificate to Paper Shouts!  Head on over to the site and take a look around.  Come back here and leave me a comment stating the holiday card you like the most and a green tip or favorite green product (please note that you must do both for your entry to count).  Comments will close on November 5, 2008 at 11:59 pm PST and I will announce the winner here the following day. One comment per person, please. US residents only. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. If you don’t want to leave your email address, please be sure to check back for my announcement on the winner. Please note that winners must respond within 48 hours of being announced/contacted or another winner will be drawn.

Want an extra entry? Do any or all of the following and receive an extra entry for each one.  That means you can gain up to a total of three entries!

Be sure to leave me a separate comment for each additional entry.

Love the Snowflake Celebration card! My ‘green’ tip is to use LARGE recycling containers and to have a set day to take them to the recycling center (if your city dosn’t pick them up) It is hard to recycle when your recycle bins are overflowing!

  • by Andrea McMann October 24, 2008 at 1:45 pm

I like the Vintage one. Something about polka dots always catches my eye…

My tip might be something that is already well-known, but it was a godsend to me when I learned it. Here goes:

Everyone knows that equal parts warm water and vinegar make a fantastic glass cleaner, but if you’ve used commercial cleaners, you’ll end up with streaks on your glass. UNLESS you put one tiny squirt of dish soap in with the water for the first couple of cleanings. After that, the soap is no longer required. I’ve had the best results with using a clean rag soaked in the vinegar solution to wash the window, then buff it clean with newspaper and elbow grease! :)
