Blogging For a Cause
August 18, 2008
Blogs are increasingly being recognized as an influential means of communication. Wordpress alone reports 3,845,597 blogs! Community, support, and information are some of the reasons people seek out blogs. Kristen, from Cool Mom Picks, The Parent Bloggers Network, and Motherhood Uncensored has initiated Blog the Recession for the month of August. If you’re one of millions who write or read a blog (or both!), why not pledge to click through from your feedreader to give your favorite blogger some extra page views? If you want some incentive to click on some of my posts, I have 3 giveaways going on right now here, here, and here.
And while we’re talking about causes, Soy Is The New Black is raising awareness about Type I Diabetes. Her daughter was recently diagnosed and it would be wonderful if you went over and showed your support with a kind word or donation. Diabetes is increasingly becoming an epidemic in this country and I encourage you to read more about it at the American Diabetic Association and the Juvenvile Diabetes Research Foundation International.

Intuition is the clear conception of the whole at once
Johann Kaspar Lavater
I
ntuition…the “ability to sense or know immediately without reasoning… ” I’m not sure whether or not I believe this. There are times when I do. For instance, I “knew” that when I was pregnant, we were having a boy. Just don’t ask me how I knew that. And don’t ask me how I didn’t “know” I was pregnant for weeks and weeks despite obvious nausea and the disappearance of a regular monthly visitor. That, my friends, is what you call denial. But back to the topic at hand. Do women people really have this sense about things that cannot be backed by any rational, scientific answer?
Just pondering…
